Overview

Raisecom iTN2100 is a modular Packet Transport Network (PTN) access and aggregation platform designed with dual-core architecture. Its ability to support Ethernet and TDM services simultaneously, coupled with carrier-class reliability and suitability for mobile backhaul networks, makes it an ideal choice for telecommunications operators and government agencies. It enables seamless transition from legacy SDH/TDM networks to modern IP/MPLS-based networks, preserving legacy services (E1, leased lines) while delivering new Ethernet and MPLS-TP services. Architectural Design and Capacity Features

The iTN2100's dual-core architecture implements TDM switching and packet switching functions in separately optimized cores. This enables 2G/3G/4G/LTE mobile operators to carry E1 leased lines while simultaneously delivering 1GE Carrier Ethernet E-Line services. GFP encapsulation technology converts fixed-rate E1 services to variable-rate Ethernet packets, allowing legacy services to be transported to modern IP/MPLS backbone networks. At the aggregation layer, the 104 Gbps system-wide capacity meets all aggregation requirements for metropolitan access networks. The modular 15-slot design provides scalability as services grow through additional modules.

Protection and High Availability

The iTN2100 enables operators to deliver 99.9%+ uptime guarantees (approximately 43 minutes downtime annually) through its multilayered protection architecture. At the Ethernet service layer, G.8032 ERPS and G.8031 ELPS mechanisms can redirect ring/linear traffic within 50ms. At the MPLS-TP layer, ring and linear protection switching automatically reroute traffic on LSP failures. At the SDH layer, 1+1 MSP and SNCP provide recovery within seconds on STM line failures. At the hardware level, dual control cards, dual power supplies, and redundant fan modules ensure service continuity despite component failures. PTP synchronization and SyncE provide timing accuracy for time-critical mobile backhaul applications.

Simgenet serves as the Raisecom iTN2100 platform's technical supplier and systems integration specialist for the Turkey region. During project design, Simgenet assists mobile operators in evaluating E1 leased line counts, growing Ethernet service requirements, and advanced ring/mesh topology configurations to determine appropriate iTN2100 configurations. During procurement, the company supplies product components with correct revisions and software versions, and performs pre-testing. During site installation and go-live, Simgenet establishes all E1 and Ethernet connections, configures GFP encapsulation rules, and tests ring protection mechanisms. During operations, Simgenet assists with Raisecom NMS management platform integration, provides software update support, and resolves technical issues.
