Dataconnect IG202T-R38 is a multi-standard industrial modem designed for asynchronous and transparent data transmission in the 300–3400 Hz voice band. It employs FSK (Frequency Shift Keying) modulation at low speeds, providing high immunity to noise and interference; at high speeds, it uses 4, 8, and 16-point QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) to achieve data rates up to 9600 bps.
Its Texas Instruments 32-bit DSP processor architecture delivers high signal processing performance and programmable flexibility. Configuration is performed through Hayes-compatible AT commands via the DIAG serial port on the front panel.

Frequency Channels and FSK Modulation
IG202T-R38 provides programmable FSK channels in the 300–3600 Hz frequency band. Each channel can be independently configured with center frequency, deviation, and baud rate. This flexibility enables multiplexing of multiple low-speed channels over a single voice band.
The primary advantage of FSK modulation is reliable transmission over noisy and variable-impedance analog lines (leased lines, radio links, PLC). Therefore, IG202T-R38 is widely preferred for SCADA communications in electrical distribution networks, line protection signaling, and RTU data collection applications.
