Simgenet SMG1000 is a professional IP/MPLS router family that supports all IP/MPLS, routing, VPN and service capabilities available on the SMG818V5 platform, offered in PCIe Gen4-based Model A and Model B hardware variants.
Simgenet SMG1000 is an IP/MPLS router family that fully supports all IP/MPLS, routing, VPN and service capabilities available on the SMG818V5 platform. While the same software architecture and network features are preserved, SMG1000 is offered in two different hardware variants to address varying high-speed uplink requirements.
The SMG1000 family provides scalable solutions for aggregation and core network scenarios through PCIe Gen4-based Model A and Model B variants. Model A supports one dual-port 100G/200G network interface card via a single PCIe Gen4 slot, while Model B offers higher uplink capacity by supporting two dual-port 100G/200G network interface cards through two PCIe Gen4 slots.
SMG1000 is designed for high-availability deployments in energy, railway, telecom and ISP backbone networks, supporting MPLS VPN, VRF, VXLAN, QoS, SNMP, RADIUS, OpenVPN and Site-to-Site IPsec VPN. It also provides service resilience with Fast Routing, ECMP and BFD mechanisms, precise time synchronization via PTP/NTP, and access network support with PPPoE.
SMG1000 – Hardware Variants
SMG1000 – Model A
- 1 × PCIe Gen4 slot
- Support for one dual-port 100G / 200G NIC
- Maximum uplink capacity:
• 2 × 100G
• 2 × 200G
- Target use cases:
• Aggregation
• ISP Edge
• Mid-scale backbone
• Energy and railway networks
SMG1000 – Model B
- 2 × PCIe Gen4 slots
- Support for two dual-port 100G / 200G NICs
- Maximum uplink capacity:
• 4 × 100G
• 4 × 200G
- Target use cases:
• Core routing
• High-capacity backbone
• High-traffic, multi-uplink scenarios
Note:
SMG1000 Model A and Model B provide identical software and network capabilities. The difference lies solely in the number of PCIe slots and the supported high-speed uplink capacity.
